The Taiwanese Design Collection

Some scientists from Taiwan took the theoretical approach and found a elegant way to produce any number of variants of the Lanchester type. Some samples from their paper:

First step: Standard Lanchester Type with bevel gear differential
Same thing, but differential made of spur gears: Planetary gear!

First step: Pointer connected to spider for complete symmetry of gear trains.

Step two: Pointer connected to external gear
And for the experts...pointer attached to inner gear

Inquisitive minds simply HAVE to know - What if two differentials are used:

The upper spider carries small wheels to preserve the sense of rotation
Completely closed planetary system!
No idlers any longer - but hard to assemble.
This one looks easy - can You pinpoint the two differentials?
